Rare 60s Christian Dior New York Original Red Tailored Coat S

A remarkable piece of mid-century fashion history, this vintage Christian Dior–New York Original coat features the beautifully sculpted silhouette associated with Dior’s postwar era.

Rendered in a striking saturated red and described as a silk and wool blend, the coat is exquisitely tailored with a dramatically fitted waist that releases into a full, flared skirt. Curved back seaming emphasizes the hourglass shape and creates beautiful architectural movement through the lower portion of the coat.

The front features a notched collar, oversized flap chest pockets, lower pockets and four tonal covered buttons. The combination of utilitarian pocket detailing with an exceptionally feminine silhouette gives the coat a surprisingly modern look.
